Ok, so what set’s Yates apart from the competition?
Our Attention to detail.

First, on our initial consultation, we’ll take the time to sit down with you and discuss your needs and budget. Next, we’ll gather the necessary site data like such as water source pressure and volume, garden and turf area measurements, special circumstances, etc. We will take the information back to our office where we will work on your custom design. Then, usually within 72 hours, we’ll present you with our custom irrigation proposal designed specifically for your property.

Building a New House with a New Landscape, or just building a new landscape. Some points to consider:

  • Ideally, before your house is nearing completion, or before your new landscaping has started, we should meet with you to discuss water source availability and plumbing locations for your irrigation system. Too often, we have seen a homeowner leave this important step to the very end, only to end up cutting in to ceilings, or installing the plumbing in an undesirable location.
  • We can also discuss locations for sleeving (conduit) well before walkways and driveways are installed.  Frequently, we have encountered sites where hard surfaces have been installed, leaving a garden or turf area landlocked, now making it very costly or impractical to install irrigation.
  • Irrigation system installations should proceed after the final grading, but before new sod, seed, or plants are established.

FAQ: what are the steps for successful landscape irrigation?

  1. Create your landscape plan. Decide on the location of turf, plant beds, hard surfaces, trees etc. Work with your landscaper or nursery to decide on what is best suited for each area.
  2. Create the irrigation plan. Once you have a good idea of what will be going where, we can work with you (or your landscaper) to determine water requirements, sprinkler types and pipe locations before shovels hit the ground.
  3. Establish the final grading. Do not plant or mulch at this point. Move on to the next step.
  4. Now install irrigation piping and sprinklers. We will leave sprinklers slightly above the final grade to accommodate sod and or mulch, or flush to accommodate seeded areas.
  5. Once all the underground parts are in, now install sod, seed or plantings.
    1. As soon as the plantings are installed, we’ll be there to fine tune and adjust the sprinkler system. A special timer program is set up to water the new plantings 3 to 4 times per day, for the first few weeks.
    2. We’ll return again within 30 days, to check up on everything, ensure you know how to operate your system.
    3. Finally, it’s time to relax and enjoy your new landscape!
